Ira Strassberg

Advisor

Ira S. Strassberg is Fannie Mae's Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer - Housing and Community Development. He is responsible for oversight of the HCD business unit's financial performance, including planning and budgeting, management reporting and analysis, new business initiatives, and the application of accounting and tax policies to the HCD business. He manages the Business Analysis and Support function that helps HCD make effective business decisions and facilitate revenue forecasting. Before joining Fannie Mae in 2008, Strassberg was the senior vice president and chief financial officer for Green Park Financial, an independent Fannie Mae DUS lender, and its affiliated commercial mortgage broker, Walker & Dunlop. He also worked at Freddie Mac as a senior director. Earlier in his career, Strassberg advised large- and mid-sized financial services companies as a managing director at KPMG Consulting/BearingPoint. He began his career on the audit staff of KPMG Peat Marwick. Strassberg has a bachelor of science/bachelor of arts in accounting from Georgetown University. He is a certified public accountant and a certified management accountant.
