Technology Architecture
System Architecture

Evolv is an event based loan accounting platform that fills the gap between current generation servicing system which have powerful cash and accrual accounting features but little to no support for GAAP pronouncements that target cost basis or fair value accounting features

The platform is installed between source systems and the general ledger and handles the complex accounting that must be performed on your loan portfolio to maintain compliance.

Evolv is a next generation software platform which is based on the industry standard for implementing enterprise class service oriented (SOA) applications, the powerful Java Enterprise (Java EE) platform.

Evolv Activity Extraction Engine

Evolv comes bundled with a rule-based enterprise data extraction routine that makes the process of extracting information directly from a wide variety of disparate sources easy. The extraction engine has been built to be able to handle very large data volumes and supports extraction from databases, flat files, CSV and Excel files and structured sources.

Accounting Modules

Evolv has a well defined pluggable interface making it easy to add additional accounting functionality into the core system. In addition a rich set of services (sub-ledger interfaces, automated general ledger interface and other core services) allow Evolv to adapt quickly to a changing environment.

Platform Architecture

Being based on the Java EE platform and Enterprise Java Beans (EJB 3) allows Evolv unprecedented portability. The system is supported on several versions of Unix (including active support for Linux) and Windows on both 32 bit and 64 bit architectures. Using EJB3 and the Java Persistence Architecture (JPA) Evolv is not database dependent and is supported on Oracle, Sybase and MySQL (InnoDB).

Evolv relies on several features of the Java EE platform including clustering to ensure scalability and availability; features such as JMX and SNMP to allow for enterprise wide monitoring

Enterprise Service Oriented Architecture
Services are exposed to support outside access in the form of remote method invocation (RMI) or Web Services via pure HTTP or Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). The use of SOA paradigm is used extensively inside the engine and promoted to potential clients to centralize core application logic.

Authentication and Authorization
The engine supports LDAP directory authentication and authorization and uses the Java Authentication and Authorization Services (JAAS) and Single Sign On technologies to support authentication and authorization using existing enterprise sources.

Evolv in the Cloud

Evolv is also available on demand for the Cloud and runs on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elastic Compute Infrastructure (EC2). The unique scalability features including automatic data partitioning and load management allow Evolv to truly scale across horizontal infrastructure that is available on the Cloud.

Using the Cloud allows Evolv to use computing power when it needs it and release compute resources when they are no longer required allowing the platform to process large portfolios at the lowest level without introducing excessive wait times
